Geoff Minors

Role

Design and manufacture of projects as needed. Workshop supervisor, repair of equipment.

Geoff works with the Principal Investigators and helps them with the projects they require to be designed at all stages; from the idea, to the drawing, to the final product. Geoff use Solidworks software for the design. Components are purchased, sourced out, or made by Geoff himself. He is currently involved in the design of our new workshop and purchasing the equipment as needed.

Experience

Educated and trained in the U.K. Mechanical Engineering, Geoff worked as a Manager of Engineering facilities in the U.K. He moved to Canada in 1999 and began work as an Application Engineer. After some time, Geoff started his own business in servicing and training of automated machinery. In particular, his work specialized in mechanical electronic interfacing and CNC machinery. CNC machine tool repair, electronic troubleshooting, training of operators, CNC machine programming and machine tool sales. Geoff also worked as a consultant for companies on the correct machine to be used for their requirements.

Outside Interests

Amateur radio, sailing, restoring European sports cars, photography and gardening.
