Corinne Montes

Corinne was born in Oaxaca, México. She finished her undergrad studies in Psychology in 2003 and received her PhD in Biomedical Science in 2009 at the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM). She completed both degrees in the Neuroscience Group at the Faculty of Medicine supervised by Dr. Oscar Prospéro-Garcia.
Corinne has investigated sleep functions, focusing in two specific areas: sleep as promoter of neuronal survival and as promoter of memory consolidation. Moreover, during her PhD studies she worked with the endocannabinergic system and its relation with memory and reward process.
She joined Dr. Bruce L McNaughton's lab at the CCBN in July 2009. Her actual work is about the self-organization of cortico-hippocampal network in early postnatal development. She is using fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), high density electrodes arrays and voltage-sensitive dye imaging (VSDI).
